RapidSand^® Clarifier

TECHNICAL INFORMATION

The RapidSand^® clarifier is a high-rate, physical-chemical clarification process involving a metal-salt coagulation, flocculation along with the addition of micro-sand as ballasting agent to increase the weight and settleability of flocs that result in high-rate clarification.

The microsand introduced when flocculation is taking place to reach the fastest sedimentation rate, and the sludge produced at the hydrocyclone overflow is sent to sludge thickening, the supernatant is returned to the flocculation, and the thickened sludge is pumped to sludge dewatering.

The operating principle of RapidSand^® PAC is identical to RapidSand^®,while powdered Activated carbon(PAC) is additionally added directly to the process to effectively reduce the concentration of many of the organic compounds and control taste and odor.
