Pre-treatment

Pre-treatment is the first stage of wastewater treatment process. The purpose of the pre-treatment is to remove most of the non-soluble solids physically in order to reduce the pollutant loads and to protect all the subsequent steps in the treatment plant.

Ozone is recommended for pre-oxidation  to remove micro-pollutant, to enhance the coagulation/flocculation/decantation process, and reduce disinfection by-products.

Filtration

Filtration is the process in which solid particles are removed using a filter medium that allows the fluid to pass through while retaining the solid particles.

Polishing Treatment

The main purpose of polishing stage is to remove organic matter, micro-pollutants and to reduce the unwanted by-products, such as  THM, HAA5, etc., to a minimum level during final disinfection treatment.

The high-rate clarifier RapidSand PAC is also a good solution for removing dissolved contaminants through addition of powdered activated carbon(PAC).

Oxidation & Disinfection

Ozone is normally used for the pre-treatment of raw water as pre-oxidation to reach the following main purpose: to eliminate algae present; to prevent the formation of THM and other disinfection by-products(DBPs); to enhance coagulation-flocculation performance and reduce polymer dosing rate; to oxidise iron and manganese to form insoluble particulates. Ozone is also used in intermediate oxidization to oxidize organic matter and in disinfection process.

Biological Treatment

Biological treatment mainly uses the metabolic function of microorganisms to degrade the dissolved and colloidal organic pollutants in water and convert them into harmless substances, so that they can be purified. It can be an aerobic, anaerobic or anoxic treatment process.
