Pre-treatment
Pre-treatment is critical to the design of CSO or storm water treatment.
The primary goal of the pre-treatment is to capture trash, debris and suspended sediments present in CSO to extend the life and reduce maintenance for the subsequent processes.
Ozonation helps eliminate the viruses, bacteria and pharmaceutical residual that get flushed into the environment.
Clarification
During CSO or storm conditions, the incoming flows may overwhelm the hydraulic capacity of the existing wastewater treatment plants, especially for biological treatment process, in the situation, raw wastewater overflow can be by-passed to the following high rate clarifiers for treatment.
